IN what went unrecognized as the absolute pinnacle of what Netplay has to offer, a fantastic and exhilarating Melee session was intentionally terminated by participant StrainFox because dinner was ready.
The two players StrainFox and Cheugmeister, paired perfectly in skill, attitude and geographic location, matched each other for the first time by sheer chance on Slippi’s Unranked service.
The pair immediately recognized unique and engaging playstyles in each other with each game sharing the intensity of a major tournament match, owing to playful counterpicks and incredible plays as the buffer just felt right.
After twelve extremely entertaining games that any audience would be privileged to spectate, their session concluded with StrainFox tapping “lol”, “well played”, “ggs” into the character select menu and disconnecting without waiting for response from his opponent.
StrainFox went on to post “ggs Cheug, gtg dinner ready” into his local Melee discord channel but went unacknowledged because Cheugmeister was not a member of the same server.
At press time StrainFox felt nourished by his pasta bake made with a Dolmio’s stir-in sauce and had logged back into Slippi, matching a Samus main from two states away.
