JASON Murdoch is a 23 year-old Melbourne-based man who has told reporters he was considering entering a Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament. 

“I’m pretty good at it, I usually beat all my friends and family so I thought I’d try and enter one of these tournaments I’ve read about online.” said Jason, who has very little knowledge of the competitive smash community.

“My favorite item is the hammer, because it’s so powerful you can pretty much take a life in one hit.” Jason commented as he played against a CPU on on his 32″ TEAC LCD television.

When asked which character Jason likes to use, he responded with “I like Kirby because you can suck anyone up in the game and steal their abilities. So Kirby is the ultimate character. I hope there aren’t too many Kirby players there.”

“I’ve been practicing with Level 9 CPU’s and they’re really hard, but I win against them pretty much every time” said Jason, sounding unsure of himself.

When reached for comment on his strategy for the tournament, he advised reporters “I’ll probably try to get them in that little bit at the bottom of Hyrule Temple. You can live for ages there so I’ll be hard to kill.”

At press time, Jason was registering for the upcoming City of Melee event in St Kilda, VIC.
